Leaving the mothership
After 16 years with one organisation, I decided it was time for a new chapter. I had delivered complex projects, led teams and built a career I was proud of. I expected that experience to speak for itself.
Almost 150 applications later, I had made very little progress. Some applications brought a rejection. Many brought nothing at all. It was frustrating—and it made me question what I was missing.
So I started building the help I needed
I started looking more closely at the application process: how my CV presented my experience, how it matched the role, and how I was finding opportunities in the first place. Seeing newly listed jobs already showing hundreds of applicants only added to the frustration.
The tools and approach behind AgileCV grew out of that search. I wanted a practical way to make my experience clearer, prepare for the questions ahead and stop treating every application as another shot in the dark.
I used it for my own next chapter
That approach helped me secure a role at Aegon, moving into the financial sector without previous experience in that industry. Around four years later, I used the tools again as I prepared for my move to JPMorganChase.
Those are my experiences, not a promise that software can land a job for you. I still had to demonstrate what I could do. The difference was having a more deliberate way to present my experience and prepare.
From something I needed to something I could share
Over the years, I have conducted hundreds of interviews and helped hundreds of job seekers, colleagues and friends with their careers. I have brought those lessons into AgileCV’s CV tools, interview preparation and learning journey planner.
The job search is another part of that effort: finding opportunities directly on company career pages, so you can explore beyond the feeds you already know. A company-direct listing may also appear elsewhere; what matters is giving you a useful route to the original opportunity.
Why there is a small fee
The fee helps cover the technology and the work that goes into improving AgileCV. My aim is to make practical career support accessible, with clear choices about what you buy.
A career move can mean a great deal: more confidence, more opportunity or a role that fits your life better. I built AgileCV to help you prepare for that move with more clarity and less guesswork.
I know what it feels like to be on the other side of “Apply”. That is where this product started.
